Covid-19 Update: Governor Justice Releases Guidance on Safely Opening Lodging Facilities

On May 13, 2020, Governor Justice issued guidance on reopening lodging facilities including hotels, motels, condo hotels, rental properties, Airbnb/VRBO style lodging, and cabins.

The guidelines were published in conjunction with the issuance of Executive Order 39-20, lifting the requirement that out-of-state residents quarantine for 14 days upon arriving in West Virginia.

The lodging facilities guidance is broken down into six main topics: guest safety and check-in, common spaces, bellman and valet services, communication and technology, amenities, and staff protocols. In depth detail on each of the topics can be found in the guidance.
